Smile F36 Modifications Advice

Hi all,

I've had my F36 for about 4 years now and it needs a refresh/update badly. Any recommendations on simple, clean modifications to make it feel like new again? Pics appreciated!

Btw, I did add a 35% tint after the attached pic.

Thanks.

I'm using ACS lowering springs with stock shock. The ride is comfortable enough with decent improvement on handling and lowered ride height. But if you own the car I'd invest on a full set to make it more complete.

A good set of 19' wheels would be great too.

19” wheels would make it look much better. Also front lip spoiler, rear diffuser.

Budget is probably around 2-3k. Looking for mostly cosmetic changes.

With a $3K budget, both suspension and cosmetic modifications can be accommodated.

Earlier suggestions to focus on suspension improvements are on target. The driver 'lives' with suspension more so than any other component.

For interior cosmetics only:
-It looks like you have the MSport package, but if you don't, upgrading to the MSport steering wheel will make a difference.

-Upgrade instrument cluster with the 6WB full digital retrofit.

-Aforementioned interior trim. If you don't want to spring for the full alcantara set, you can vinyl wrap it with whatever color or faux carbon fiber finish you'd like.

Exterior cosmetics:
-Aforementioned black kidney grills, slat style of your choice.

-Upgrade wheels.

-Vinyl wrap exterior to a completely different color.

-M style mirror caps in black or carbon fiber.

Performance:
-Flash tune will make a big difference in how the car feels.

-Suspension upgrades will make the car handle better, while also improving stance/aesthetics.

Misc.:
-Simple coding for things like lighting, removal of iDrive warnings and seatbelt chimes, video in motion, opening displays/animations.

The XDrive height is raised since cars need to be able to clear conditions that the AWD system would have to travel through. (Better clearance for snow, rain, etc.)

Just lower it with new sport springs or coilovers so the gap is no more!!

Lowering springs and new wheels!

A nice wide stance makes alot for the overall look of the car.

I think some black rims and a black low profile spoiler would be nice touches.

I would recommend coilovers instead of lowering springs, especially with your budget.

Looks like you have a pre-LCI. A great mod I did on my 335 was to replace the flat black radio and climate surround with the LCI glass black, pre-lit piece. It costs less than $100 to do yourself and really makes a difference inside.
