2007 E90 Bootlid Issue

Hi,

I'm looking for some help if possible.

i have a 2007 E90 saloon. The other day i shut my boot like normal but once in the car saw that the "boot open" warning light came up.

I went to investigate, I lifted the boot and there was no assistance at all. I had to lift the full weight of the bootlid- i get this may be issue with the struts but there is also an issue with the lock/latch. It literally has to be slammed shut for it to be closed properly. if u do it gently, it does not shut - its like its locked and hitting the bar of the mechanism.

any ideas??

Wrong section?
Anyway,

Have you checked the wiring running from the vehicle into the boot lid? They are enclosed in a rubber conduit. Often the wires inside become damaged and make the boot go crazy.

Cut the rubber tube vertically / pull the rubber conduit right down and have a good look at the wires.
