The Final BMW F30 340i & 340ix
The final 340i and 340ix in North America
After some investigation, appears the last 340i for North America rolled of the assembly line on October 9th. The VIN is WBA8B3C5JK843532 https://www.mdecoder.com/decode/k843532 Transmission Automatic Colour GLACIERSILBER METALLIC (A83) Upholstery SENSATEC 1SCHWARZ (KCSW Sadly, in terms of equipment, it isn’t anything to get excited about. Almost a stripper. The final 340ix took more sleuthing than expected. The VIN sequence that was allocated for the 340ix ran out so BMW started using older VIN sequences for previous era models that did not use up all their allocated VINs. Actually, 3 leftover sequences were used in the final days and finding the very last proved elusive. The last 20 from the final day of production (October 11th) were found in the A940500-A940519 range, with A940519 being the last. A940519 is a MSport with some interesting options, making it look as if it was ordered presold. It includes uncommon rear sun blinds and shades. But you might have trouble spotting it on the road as the external lettering was deleted (one wonders if the owner would have ordered it that way if they knew it was the last 340ix to roll off the line) And it went to.....Canada. Why do you say it was debadged from the factory? 3DZ “Delete extra external lettering”? That just means that the factory won’t apply the “line” badge (Sport or Luxury). Or, in ETK terms, this. The ordering and pricing guides (example) refer to this as “Without Lines designation outside”, and it’s always been standard on US F30s (fortunately). My car was built with 3DZ and it most definitely says 340i on the back (along with that ugly xDrive logo.) |

The SALAPA rules aren’t perfect, and sometimes they wind up applying options that have no effect on production or functionality. Edit: forgot that outside the US, small M fender badges are a thing on M Sport F30s. Look here. Last edited by supermarket; 12-12-2018 at 09:39 AM.. |

I have a 2018 340i RWD, if I remember correctly it was built in June 18 I think. i really like the car and I am glad to get one of the last 340's, big improvement over my 2013 328.

3DZ doesn't remove the 340i/ix badging, and is standard in the US. |
