C63AMG. It's confirmed!
I literally JUST got out of my buddies new Black C63AMG. Short and Sweet- Guys.....BOY did we make the right choice to go with the M3! WoW there is NO comparison as far as the overall car is concerned. Low point- the interior is very weak. I felt just like i was in my mom's old C class. High- I must admit the acceleration/torque is unreal. I felt my spleen shift positions w/ a 0-100mph run. Didn't actually drive the car yet but i can confidently say, I would never consider buying that car.

So it sucks because the interior is not great? My only complaint about that car is that tho it does look meaner than a basic c class it really doesnt stand out which i guess could be a good thing from a ticket stand point.

I apologize for my short review (i'm illegally on the computer at work). -When you get into a high-end sports car for the first time, it either has that "IT" factor or it doesn't. I'm talking about an over all feel that makes you think either "WOW, this car is innnncredible (i am in love)" or "OK, it's nice i guess but nothing to write home about." And with these quotes i am referring to the M3 and the C63, respectively. The C63 was just not impressive to me. I AM bias (own a M3Coupe) but reasonably objective at the same time. Yes, aesthetics are important to me. I don't buy cars just for the engine. I want it all--->is that not the definition of the M3? I'm sorry but....Merc loses this battle!
PS We are hopefully battling on the streets this weekend.....i will write of the Mercs death. |

that car produce a brutal amount of power, but the way that power is delivered and handled is what makes the M3 a better car. Mercedes never had a problem producing that kind of power but never got it right with the handling. no one can get the formula right like BMW. and the right formula in my opinion is "Sporty with elegance"

i can understand preferring the m3, and saying you dont like the interior is fine too. but using that as a negative compared to the m3 whose interior isn't that great either seems weird. and you didnt even drive the car to come to not liking it?

Understand your point! But my friend, Fox Red leather, FULLY loaded, Alum trim. Yeah right the M3 interior isn't nice....I don't care what some magazine or pro-reviewer said. I love it. But i will drive the Merc soon, just for you.

I've driven both the E9X M3 and the C63 a few times now, and the interior is a wash as far as I'm concerned, but the seats in the C63 are without a doubt more sporty, and much better (unless you're seriously fat).

I have driven a few C63 AMG's. The car is unreal. I personally love it, but would never get it over a M3. In my opinion, its for taking the kids to school, getting the groceries, going to your doctors appointment, and then you have to get home in 5 minutes while youre 10 miles away heehehehehe. HUMMM you can do those things in the M3 too but it just suits the C63 better.
Disregarding my useless rant above, I think its apples and oranges. Get whatever you like better, you can't go wrong with either. Except the C63 is a devil to tame if you have some real fun with it

Both cars have a lot plastic. I actually thought the C63 interior was quite nice. The C63 seats are amazing, way way better than the M. Last edited by hellrotm; 07-12-2008 at 04:40 AM.. |

C63 AMG is one of the car that feels faster than it actually is ( according to some reviews). Not saying it's slow but it does feel faster than the actual speed due to the crazy torque. On the other hand, M3 doesn't feel as fast and feel 'tamed' but when you look at the speedometer...big trouble.
I guess it's due to the torque difference.

At first I thought you were talking about the C63 Black series coupe.... oh what a great looking Merc... Not a super great performer in regards to the price tag but super rare and super racey looking.... Thats probably the only current Merc I would consider...

I can RULE OUT a car without driving it. I can RULE IN a car without driving it. Don't believe me? I purchased the new M3 without driving it. Actually, i purchased my last 3 cars without ever driving them. In research I trust!
