Ctek battery charger

Just looking to buy a ctek charger, is it perfectly ok to connect the leads to the battery then connect the charger when nesessary and charge (trickle) with the battery connected to the car? Just to keep the battery maintained while the car is standing.

Thanks

You should charge from under the hood.

+1. Even better, permanently attach a quick connect cable to the under hood charging posts, with the connector end zip tied to your lower grille, so you can plug the charger to the car without opening the hood.

I hook one up to my F30 during the cold winter months. Even with it in the garage, it gets cold. Cheap insurance.

For my former car, i used this italian made product (really made in Italy, not just designed in EU but made in China or PRC):

https://www.batterycontroller.co.uk/...ducts/9000-evo

Had a really great experience. But i sold it a year ago with that car... and now i'm thinking, to buy again EVO 9000 or to buy CTEK? Anyone has experience with both? CTEK is OEM for a lot of car makers, but EVO 9000 had nice little convenient display, where you could read all information, and also had a battery and alternator test...
