320d e90 INPA says all 04 glowplugs faulty ???

The Car does start every morning. Does take a little longer , the first start is accompanied by puff of blue / white smoke.
I had changed all 4 glow plugs when I bought the car last year. The new plugs are only in 7 months ago.

What could be faulty here as I don't believe that all glow plugs have failed.
The INPA fault reappears every time I have cleared it.

Temperature over here is minimum 10 degree C early mornings, so not cold yet.

I am just worried and confused. How can all glowplugs fail ? They are only 7 months old. INPA says all 04 are faulty...If the controller unit is at fault, should there be some other fault code???

Is there a fuse or relay at fault ???
Thanks....

Fault codes for all four glowplugs usually means that the glow control unit is faulty.
Did you scan to verify that the glow system was working after replacing the plugs 7 months ago? I had 3 new plugs fail after 2 months on my E87 when I bought some cheap aftermarket plugs. Replaced them with Bosch plugs and the codes for plug 1,2 and 4 dissappaired. I had to replace the glow control unit to get rid of the code for plug no 3.

One of my glow plugs was faulty when I replaced them all with a random OEM brand. The fault codes were all cleared. I recently checked the fault codes after 6 months as there was some general engine vibrations which popped up recently. I was surprised to see all 04 Glow plug fault codes that keep on reappearing upon clearing......

bfaone - you say you are using inpa, is yours a N47 engine?

I would say you're controller needs changing.
