Awesome! Thank you for sharing. Having the ability to try out various exterior, interior and wheel color combinations is very much appreciated!

That's a great link... so in Switzerland there's no manual option at all? On the German configurator I'm sure the 20i is manual as default. I think UK will be all autos...?

All previously released information states the G29 will ONLY come in an 8 speed automatic.

Jaguar will sell you a better looking, better sounding and equally powerful F-Type V6S roadster with a manual. This Z4 is DOA.

Have to agree! Jaguar came out 5 years ago and the design still looks better.

Seriously...what a waste. Have no idea who will buy this over a Boxster or a Jaguar or even a Fiat Spider!

None, other than the 'Anthracite' metallic affect that can be added to the standard black fabric.

Using the configurator and looking at the interior photos are we not also looking at 95% of what the new 3er will be as well? Seems very very similar from the spy shots.

I didn't say it DRIVES better. You don't need to drive a car to have an opinion about how it looks or sounds. Learn to read

True - the F-Type is timeless! Not to mention they have R and SVR versions that would eat this thing for breakfast.

As a former Z4 owner, I know I wouldn't.

The only good thing to come out of this waste of a car is the new Supra IMHO.

In Z4s defence, it's interior and tech are far superior than both..unfortunately, this is the least important matter in a sporty roadster. If BMW had the balls to keep the concepts face, and would make a Z4 M, I honestly would consider it over the boxster and F.

I read exactly what you posted.

You said it was dead on arrival.

Don't like it don't buy it.

I had a Z4 35is. Blast away, but I loved the car, and of the dozen+ cars I've owned, most of which were BMW's, I've never enjoyed one more or had more positive reactions from people who saw the car. This car makes me happy in all the ways that car did.

No manual, yeah that's a deal breaker for some, but the majority of people aren't getting the Jag in a stick, so it doesn't matter to most people. I wouldn't be getting the stick, just like most people wouldn't be.

Better looking is subjective. The Jag is nice looking but it's been around awhile. I happen to really like the look of the Z4 M40i, especially in the Frozen Gray I'd be getting it in.

Better sounding, maybe, but the M40 sounds pretty darn good in the videos I've seen, and in the X3/X4 M40 models I've driven (my current 340 sounds pretty nice, too).

Equally powerful? Ehhhhh, maybe on paper. The Jag V6S isn't nearly as quick as the power numbers suggest. Maybe it's BMW underrating their engines or Jag overrating theirs, or maybe it's the hundreds of extra lbs in the portly Jag, I don't know. Whatever the reason, I know the F Type V6S isn't quicker than an M2, though, and the Z4 M40 is.

To me, the new Z4 M40i looks great inside and out, has all the cool new tech, outdrives the Jag, and costs less. I'll take it.

Thank you - same here. The 35i solicited mostly positive feedback from everyone! And I loved driving it. Ironically, one of the most harshest critics was I myself.

Can't wait to hopefully see the frozen grey one in the flesh and will be getting it also. What people overlook is that most regular folks won't go on the track with the car - you can't be everything to all people. The Jaguar is just not very practical in my opinion. Nice, yes. But also quite expensive once a couple of 'must have' options are checked. I figured the Z4 M40i will be nicely equipped available for about $80k.

$80K is a lot for what you get.

BMW better have some good leases.

compare to Jaguar or Boxster with a couple of 'must have' options … but agree, lot of money for a car, no matter how one looks at it.

Made some quick gifs. The non M-Sport version looks quite good on this car.
