Thumbs up Floor mats replaced by dealer

I did a search ,but did not see anyone post on this. My floor mats like many on this board have folded up and flipped back on themselves. My rear mats were starting to look like taco shells. The passenger side had completely flipped back on itself. I called my SA to see if others had complained and see if BMW made better mats that I could buy. She suggested the all weather ,but I did not want those right now. I received a call later the same day from the service manager saying that BMW had noticed and he had a complete set of new mats for me, free. These are supposed to be the "new" mats from the supplier that wont fold and warp. I will let you know how they hold up ,but I was very pleased with my SA for checking.

I've never heard of them folding up like "that" but mine used to bunch under the pedals and I just fixed it by using the anchors that come with the mats. IMO I think the all weather mats look cheesy and cheap in a $50,000 sports sedan.

the cheap mats in front you shove them up under the lip of the plastic and they stay put.

cheap is the key word. i think the dealers give you one (drivers) bmw mat and generic mats on the other 3 seating positions

The passenger side mat sucks. It has folded back all the way on itself. the next time I go in for service I am gonna see if they can hook me up with some anchors or something

The maintenance manager told me he had a bulletin on the mats. Might want to ask if you have the same issue I had.

Mats were thrown in, all weathers were thrown in. But the quality is not great. What kind do you have?

Mine were as well. Their quality matched their price.

Mats replaced

My service mgr. called me out of the blue Thursday to tell me there is an SIB about the mats and to come in anytime for replacement.I had them done the next day, they have the same backing but they appear stiffer.

Finally, someone besides me has had this problem. Mine did the same exact thing. These are the cheapest mats I have ever seen on a BMW. Effects of cost cutting I guess. The passenger side started first, then the drivers side and then two in the back went. My Dealer came out with replacement mats which were the same crappy type I had in the car. So I insisted they replace them with the older version mats, which are much thicker and more robust.
