MSport Package on '19 X3 30i

Quick question for the experts here. I searched and can't seem to find.

About to order a 2019 X3 sDrive30i (I wish I could justify the M40i )and the only thing I'm possibly debating is the MSport package. I've always done it on my 3 series sedans as it was worth it for the Sport Seats, Sport Wheel, and I love the shadow line look instead of chrome.

That said, the X3 X-line comes standard with the Sport Seats and there is no Sport wheel it seems, so I'm wondering If Im paying almost $4k extra just for the body colored moldings, shadow line and some M door sill emblems. I know I get the M wheels, but I like the standard 19's as well. Just trying to see if there is something else I get that I'm missing.

Thanks for the help!

It also includes the connivence package which is a $2,850 option.

If you going to get m sport package, you might as well get the m40i.

It's a little more, but that much more fun to drive.

Thanks. I think I'm getting the convenience package included as part of the executive line I believe. At least that's how it looks online.

I wish! Between the SDrive RwD and the M40i with some of the current specific Sdrive incentives it's almost a 8k difference

It's not included in the price of the executive package. You just have to get the convince and premium packages to get executive.

Any other differences (e.g. suspension, etc)

M sport line is all cosmetic.

Get the dynamic suspension to upgrade the suspensions.

After I optioned out my 30i I decided the overall price difference between the same spec'd M40i made the decision to go with the M40i really easy.

What options are you thinking of?

The M Sport package isn't worth it. Doesn't add much. If the styling is important, just get the M40. But you definitely don't need either. Great car without them too.

I was going to echo what everyone else was saying, but I get your point. After speccing out a x30i with M-Sport and an identically equipped M40i, I was at about a $6K difference (which is the same as you before you add in the difference of not having AWD).

I ended up going with the M40i. I'm sure you'll be happy with the s30i, but when I looked at it all, I felt like the x30i was overpriced because that M-Sport package is all aesthetic - and the cost delta to get to the M40i, for me anyway, was less than I expected.

You can keep adding things on and on a little here and there forever, so I get that it has to stop somewhere. but for me, if I'm going to spend $60K on a car...I'd rather spend $66K and feel like I got exactly what I want. It's like buying a super expensive 55" TV...you'll be happy with it, and it might be perfect for you...but for some people, they'll end up wishing they just sized up.

Do whatever is right for YOU - just do some introspection and make sure you know what kind of person you are you want to be happy long term

As a counterpoint perspective, some of the comments- on this board suggest that “some” folks may want the aesthetics versus the somewhat raw nature of the M40i. That being said a base M40i with adaptive may do the trick. I say this because complaints about a loud exhaust, and harsh ride may be beyond the tolerance of some to live with on a day-to-day basis.

Personally, i knew what I was getting and happy with what I got

Thanks all. The way I looked at it after the Convenience package etc it was about 2k more. I just don't like the non body colored bumpers, chrome trim, etc. I went and drove both the M40i and 30i again and the 30 was enough for me. Also my kids may inherit it in 4 years or so, so the smaller engine works for that too!

Appreciate everyone's input!
