....but then the sky began to clear. Birds began to sing. Everything smelled fresh and new. Suddenly there was a spring in his step and renewed purpose in his heart. All was once again right with the world!

I don't mind at all. The short version is that an uninsured motorist, coming the other direction, was not paying attention and tried to turn left in front of me. I slammed on the brakes but there was no way to stop in time. My insurance totaled it. My car hit him in the bed of his small pickup.

It's good I was paying attention. He had 3 people packed into a tiny isuzu pickup. If I hadn't slammed on the brakes I would have hit him dead center in the door. At least one person would have been badly hurt. Thankfully everyone walked away.

That makes sense with the damage on the hood, i was wondering by the scratches if you hit a truck or SUV. I had a similar thing happen to me a couple years ago, and i had about the same damage so was just a little curious. Congrats and best of luck in your F30, i too was a previous BMW owner and just upgraded to an F30 and i'd have to say these cars are awesome to say the least. Not to say previous years weren't great either!

It was actually Barbera Red. The pictures make it look a little purplish, but it's actually more of a burgundy.

Yeah, I grew up on BMWs. My father's first BMW was an 82 e23 733i and then he moved to an 83 735i and then an L7. I've owned an 84 e30 318i, an 88 e28 535i, a 97 Z3, the e90 and now this f30 335i.

The f30 is definitely the fastest, but the e90 just felt more planted.

Suspension mods will help sort that out. Just some HR springs helped my handling. It's a commuter/daily driver, so I couldn't really justify spending thousands on coilovers, but I might upgrade my shocks/struts since my mileage is getting up there and I'm sure the stocks are getting "tired".

Also, it might just be in my head, but I feel like there was also an improvement after I put on spacers (12mm/10mm).

A mere 74,000. It had a lot of life left in it.

Yeah, it's my daily driver as well. I'd like to figure out if there's anything I can do about the steering. Even in sport mode it feels a bit disconnected.

Not that I'm aware of. Wider/lower profile tires might help.
