What’s going on at the VPC in Baltimore?

My car has been at the VPC in Baltimore since July 19th. I spoke with the BMW genius and he said that there is a work order written on my car but didn’t know what work needed to be completed. I don’t have anything being installed, so I don’t know what could take this much time.

Is anyone else seeing this hold up and what could be the cause?

It could be anything from a stop sale to transport damage. Your advisor will have to contact the port to find out.

I found out what the holdup is. BMW is replacing a scuffed wheel on the car and are awaiting the wheel.

I can sympathize with you. Mine sat for a week at the factory, while they fixed the infamous gas tank sensor problem. It then sat at the VPC for 6 days, waiting for a transport carrier. I had to call the truck line and give them a what for...which probably didn't do anything, but it did ship the next day.

I've had it now for 6 days, and am thrilled beyond words.

Hang in there, it can't take much longer, and will be just like when it left the factory.

That is awesome!!! I would have loved to hear that conversation.

You: "Hey - I have a car in Baltimore that you need to pick up and deliver to my dealer...I'm tired of waiting."

Transport: "What? Who are you? How are you involved in this process and how do you know your car is there?"

You: "BMW Genius tracking"

Transport: "Damn BMW tracking system!"

I have to give the trucking company credit for following through on everything they told me they would do. In fact, they emailed me the following day and told me the truck was on the way, along with a dealer arrival time. The truck arrived 15 minutes earlier than expected, and had already unloaded my car by the time I got there.

I'm going on 3 weeks now, and loving every one of the 700 miles I've put on it so far.
