Rear Break Recall Campaign B340418
FYI, I learned today there is apparently a new recall campaign for rear brakes. I'm scheduled to have it done next week. Off the record, I was told it has to do with air in the brake lines. Below is information from my service appointment confirmation. This recall does NOT pop up when I enter my VIN under the owners tab on the BMW NA website.

Looking at recent threads I found this recall has previously been noted (see Rear Brake Recall). Kudos to posters for sharing this information.

Here's some more details about it on BMWBLOG. Looks like all X vehicles.
https://www.bmwblog.com/2018/07/27/b...d-x6-vehicles/ You can also check for open recalls using your vin through bmws website. https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls.html |

Just called my service department and they are not aware of this issue yet.
Seems there is always a discrepancy from dealer to dealer in how they handle these situations. Cheers, |

Yes, this is the same recall issue. The "Delivery Stop" that pops up on the "dealer-eyes only" screen presumably means that the dealership should not deliver the vehicle to a buyer until the issue is addressed. BTW - I haven't noticed any problems with the rear brakes over 3,300 mostly highway miles, but am scheduled to have this addressed later this week.

On a lark, I tried my x30i VIN, and it didn't initially work. That's when I discovered that the BMW website devs are idiots, and require all uppercase letters if you have any.
(Yes, while US federal requirements specify the use of uppercase letters for the VIN, there's no sane reason to require users to input uppercase letters.) |

It's a recall in Holland as well, not sure if it's just the regular brakes or also affecting the M performance brakes.

I also was in the dealer for an oil change at 6k miles and my SA said no open recalls.

For the UK we can check on the government website...
https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall My car apparently has no open recalls... do different countries/regions have different brake parts?? Seems strange as they are all made in the US (and now S. Africa) |
