iPod Connection and Heat

So with the hot weather we are having here in Virginia, it seems when I try and select my iPod input, I get a “not recognized” on the iDrive display. It’s only after I open the armrest and cool down the iPod that everything works OK. Anyone have this issue? I don’t think it’s the vehicle, but don’t remember this happening before. Maybe I shouldn’t keep my iPod Nano hooked up in the armrest when the car is parked in the sun.

Probably exceeding the operating temperatures listed in the iPod tech specs. This is a no brainer.

Happens to my iTouch as well. Since it's got the usual IOS interface it displays the "too hot" warning like other IOS devices do.
