New welcome gift from BMW

I received this in the mail yesterday. I’m not sure if it is in place of the flash drive and driving school invite but this is the only thing I have received this far. I never received this before in our previous bmw purchases. The card has a link inside to visit. It asks you a few questions about sort of bmw centric things you like and then asks you pick out of 6-8 vendors for my “first gift”. I wasn’t familiar with the other vendors (resorts, spas and such) so I chose Starbucks. I received the voucher today via email for a $50 Starbucks gift card. Pretty nifty but I hope I still get an invite to the driving school. Anyone else receive this?

I got the same thing, also picked Starbucks. I thought it was a real nice gesture, never had that before on my previous purchases.

The invite to the driving you school you are hoping for - I assume that is a discount right not a 'free' day?

It’s an invite to a driving mechanics workshop but they do let you pay an upgrade fee to do one of the other clinics. The day M school clinic is a popular choice. I do appreciate the Starbucks gift card. It is a nice gesture.

They had a survey that I filled out. At the end they asked what I was interested between a few categories (BMW merch, starbucks, etc) and I chose STK restaurant gift card. Ended up being a $100 e-voucher which is pretty nice if you have one in your area.

I got an email to do an online survey and picked BMW store voucher. Got $50. Can't decide what to get everything is so over priced. Currently a $50 license plate frame is the top contender lol.

Very shortly after probably within 2 weeks... If it makes you feel better, I still haven't received the flash drive USB thing and my connected drive still doesn't work. Plus my car is currently in the shop for a few issues...

Yeah I got the email sent about 2-3 weeks after taking delivery, then a few days to receive the gift card in the mail. Again I thought it was a nice touch for something I wasn't at all expecting.

I also got this gift offer from BMW. Went with the Red Door Spa certificate for my wife. Maybe I should say that I bought it for her and that it wasn't from BMW.....

Believe me, you are much better off to say you sacrificed what you wanted to get her something nice for all she does for you.

As an update, the Red Door Spa voucher was for $100 and not $50 like the BMW store and Starbucks offers; it might be a better redemption if you or your SO have it available.

I got one of these in the mail last week. This was a few weeks after I got the email offer for a free 1-Day driving course at the BMW Performance Center (it's basically an extended version of the driving you get to do with a PCD).

For reference, I took delivery of my 440i at the end of April.

Wow. No, offense, but:

Can BMW get any cheaper with these trinkets?

(Not that it matters, but, if you were to disassemble this watch -- which I do not recommend anyone doing -- I'm pretty sure you'd find that the quartz movement would have provision for a third, 24-hour subdial at the 6 o'clock position. If so, BMW appears to have been too cheap to buy the watch variant that had that exposed to the user.)

I actually accepted the gift at face value and for what it is. I would not describe it as a cheap trinket, nor is it something that makes me feel sick, as your use of that smiley appears to indicate that's how you feel.

You're obviously used to the much finer things in life than a well made BMW watch. Thank you for explaining in some detail, and probably with considerable knowledge, about the 'missing' third sub-dial. You're also correct with your comment 'not that it matters'.

No offense taken btw, I would need to value and appreciate your comments to be offended by them.

Got mine as well, went through the survey, the site crashed, and I threw it in the trash.

I thought what I received (again I chose a giftcard) was a really nice gesture, having never received anything like this from our previous 20+ car purchases over the decades.
