M40i has landed.
After what felt like an eternity (only 5 weeks ), I picked up my M40i yesterday. It’s absolutely incredible - expectations thoroughly exceeded.

It's an iPhoneX but i'm running a beta of iOS12 and sometimes the filters get stuck in picture taking mode (not in the edit mode). It's hard to tell when it's bright outside. I noticed that the greens look oddly darkened in the trees on all but 2 pics. I'll have a new beta tomorrow, so hopefully the bugs will be sorted a bit better. I think it's fine one these two: |

Beautiful combo! Risking no front plates in NYC?

When did BMW move the location of the badges? I'm not sure I like it, looks out of place.

I was in the same unfortunate boat... The tow hook license plate mount looks odd on the X3, surprisingly worse than the center mounted plate. I personally went with the mounted plate for a little extra bumper protection since I sometimes park on the street, and we all know how that can be in NYC.

It started with late March production. That’s the new location for badging of X vehicles. The new X5 has them lower down on the rear hatch as well.

You guys will probably think I’m crazy but I used double sided tape to secure my euro plate to the front of my vehicle. I used 3m rubber tape, 3 pieces about 2 inches long. I have over 4K Miles now with around 90% highway driving and it hadn’t budged. I also did this on my x1 and had it for 2.5 years. Give it try before you put holes in the bumper. You can always change it later if you must.

I have a Bump Shox 2.0 on my front plate to help when other parallel parkers decide to play bumper cars to get into the spot in front of me. It actually looks quite aggressive!
The next image shows the two hook mount which I personally think looks odd. Image borrowed from user KAP8. Keep in mind that the plate bracket drills into a replaceable plastic piece of the bumper, not the bumper itself. This piece is around $150: https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...11-51118092755 |
