The European NCAP also gave the X3 high marks. They even have a cool video (while this was made in "2017", you can clearly see that 2018 X3's are being crashed):

What surprises me about this "Top 6" list is the domination of South Korean cars - two Hyundai's, two Kia's. One Lexus and one BMW make up the rest of the list. So no other Japanese or German makes? No Volvos?

Yeah, that surprised me too.
No Volvos, no Honda, Acura, no Mercedes, no Audi, no VW, yet Hyundai Elantra makes to the list, yet 4 Hyundai/Kia (they are under the same company and share a lot of platform, architecture, powertrain, technology) out of 6 safest?

I believe from the article is that there will be more but these are the first 6.
