Hi All,

I'm excited to say that I have just purchased my FIRST BMW

2018 Alpine White BMW X3 M40i - Its expected to be here by the end of the month (awaiting transport). It just so happened that the dealership had the exact spec I was interested in ordered already (with a few extra goodies).

- 21" wheels (standard for M40i's in Canada)
- Premium Package Enhanced
- Advanced Driver Assistance Package
- Ambient Air Package
- HK Sound System
- Wireless Charging/Extended Bluetooth
- Gesture Control
- WiFi HotSpot
- Black Vernasca Leather w/Blue Stitching


This forum has been super helpful in making my final decision (I've pretty much looked over/read back the archives since this G01 subforum was created). l was also considering the SQ5 and the GLC 43, but after reading all the info provided here and taking the X3 for a test drive, I knew that it was the one.

As excited as I am for the X3 I'm also kind of sad to be letting my STI go - This was my first New car and although it's been blast to rip around in the past couple years it's time to move on, and I'll definitely be looking forward to the Auto Transmission of the X3 on my commutes to and from work.

Congrats Man. Mine is pretty similar except I don't have the advanced driving assistance package.

I got mine from the BMW Store. I've only seen one other M40i on the road. It was on Hastings and Cambie about 2 weeks ago.

We should do an M40i meetup.

I'm getting a lowly 30i.

But it's the M sport line, so I'd at least look more the part.

And I'm local! (if maple ridge is local. hahaha)

Also getting it from Langley BMW. Anyone have experience dealing with them?

Yes I did. They played games (said they could get me the car I wanted but it was just a scam to get me to go into the dealership). To add to that they were not willing to give any discount. I walked out on them.

The main thing I was after with the driving assistance package was the Surround View Camera and my girlfriend was pretty pumped about the park assist.

What color did you go with for yours? I’ll keep an eye out for you.

I'm confused. While the Driving Assistance packages are recommended, neither affect the 3D camera or the parking assist. Those features are in either the Executive Package or the Parking Assistance Package.

Edit: nevermind, that's for US cars. I'm sure it's different in Canada. :-(

In canada, the surround view option, and parking assist, is part of DA+.

I think most of the packages are different in canada vs the US. in both name and what they include.

Dark Graphite Metallic on 21s. It's got white license plate covers from the dealership right now.

I took delivery of the M40i yesterday evening!! No pics as of yet as it was kind of late by the time I got it home and I park in a cramped underground codo lot so not really worth taking any photos but I'll be sure to post some up this weekend.

Coming from an STI i'm amazed of all the tech on this car. I must have spent over an hour in there yesterday just poking around in the settings and tweaking things under my Driver Profile.

Congrats! My 30i was supposed to be on a transport by June 1st from Halifax, so if you just got yours, hopefully mine will be here soon too!

Fingers crossed for you!

I got lucky as mine actually got trained from Spartansburg and didn't have to go up to Halifax then across Canada as initially thought which saved some time.
