LUX H8 180 - Not impressed at the moment...

They came within a few days of ordering, so I was happy with that. Everything looked just like they do in the video reviews that one can find online.

Then I pull them out of the box after I have my car apart for the installation of them. Odd, they don't look the same...

[IMG][/IMG]

Well, I have the car apart, I want to see what they look like with my own eyes and not a camera lens. Weird, the one that does have the covering does not work??? The one that does not have the covering does!!! Well, let's get my big hands in the little hole and swap them to see if it is the bulb or my car.

[IMG][/IMG]

Nope, it's the bulb. The bulb without the cover worked in both sockets, and the picture below is with the old stock bulb on the passenger side.

Yes I did try the bulbs before I installed them to see if they worked and I had the same result. I installed them just in case there was some unknown force at work that might have made a difference. I've messaged them through their website and now I'm awaiting a response. But like the title says, I'm not impressed...

Odd that one has a cover and one doesn't. They both should. That's part of what Lux advertises as being an improvement with the 180s.

When I got mine a couple weeks ago the bulb side connector pins were spaced too far apart. So when I initially plugged them in one of the pins bent out of place and the bulb obviously didn't light up. That might be worth checking on yours.

I did check the pins, they were spaced properly and the same on both.
