Audible Adjustment for Cross Traffic

Is there a volume adjustment for the audio warning for cross traffic when backing up? The menu says when it is turned on it will give both a visual and audio warning however I have never heard an audible warning nor can I figure out where there is a volume adjustment. The red from the visual warning is very easy to miss so audible would be nice.

I don’t think there is sound could be adjusted. But double check on that. There is audible warning only when you are backing up and there is cross traffic. You should be on the move for the alert sound. Which is not that great. In my wife’s Honda Pilot it gives a audible sound when you are not moving also. Which is nice. Since you won’t back up when there is cross traffic. It’s kinda dumb with BMW. Technology wise I think BMW is still behind.

So far even when moving I have never had the audible alert. My last car (a Ford) gave a audible and dash warning about cross traffic when backing up.

Has anyone seen the pedestrian warning yet? I have yet to see that one also.

You do get a visual and audible alert if you activate the panoramic camera in front. The camera view lights red on the side something is detected and chirps. I don’t know of a way to adjust the noise though.

I have gotten an audible warning once or twice while backing up. It's the same warning tone as the frontal collision warning.

I am way more concerned about missing something coming from the back than the front not to mention the pedestrian detection should work without the camera activated.

I can’t speak about it in this car since I haven’t experienced it yet but my 2016 x1 had it and it went off 1 or 2 times. It was an audible alert and if my memory serves me, a walking stick figure popped up in the display.

I have got the audible warning when backing up. You should take it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.
