can't find correct DME type for n51 engine in INPA software
I download bimmergeek standard tool v2.50 and install it.
I can't find correct DME type for n51 engine, there are n52(msv70), n52k(msv80). I search dme type for n51 engine, it should be msv80.1. So what is going on here? should I just select n52k engine for my n51 engine? |

I try to use msv70 and mvs80, all live data are seem good, but I can't reset vanos/vvt adaption and can't do vannos/vvt related test.
Could this be caused by un-matched DME type? |

See the two attached pdf's, for WHERE to download BMW Standard Tools (INPA), and how to get started using it. INPA will Connect to, and DIAGNOSE, ALL ~ 20 Modules (including DSC/DXC on AWD/x-Drive), AND it will show you what the Module "SGBD" or Variant is for all modules, using Functional Jobs > F2 Identification. To Connect to, and diagnose, the MSV80 DME in the N51, if using the BimmerGeeks Software, just select "Engine | N52K (MSV80), and you should have FULL functionality. Please let us know if any questions. George |

There's no such thing. It uses MSV80.prg. actually, MSV70, MSV80, MSS70, and MSD80 will all work for basic stuff. But of course it's easy enough to just select the right version, which is just MSV80.
