Recall Number 2... Botched should be the B in BMW

So just been a matter of months owning the New X3 G01

First recall in UK came quickly with a "Loose Roof Spoiler".... As if that was bad enough, having just got that sorted, now we have recall No:2

"Restricted fuel supply could cause engine to stall"

Ultimate driving machine? The ultimate was the F25 X3, this G01 X3 is cut corner after cut corner...

Any bets of how many more recalls we get from BMW within the first year?

I guess I don't understand why this would be a big deal.

Mostly for the person behind you.

And recalls are super common, especially minor ones like these. I've had one or two on every new car I've owned the past ten years, I think. Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, two Toyotas. I think Toyota had the most that I can recall, sticky accelerator, various door issues.

Yeah so far knock on wood, I haven't seen any "huge" issues as of yet. The spoiler thing... a cosmetic issue regarding 4 loose trim screws; not ideal, but also nothing that isn't easy to rectify.

I wasn't referring to the actual recall issue, but rather why someone (sharpharp) would equate a recall to reliability.

Just part of owning a new car. I get a new car every year or two and 2-4 recalls are pretty common across the board.

IMO recalls are a good indication of a manufacturer taking the initiative to fix an issue.

The opposite would be the $84MM lawsuit Mercedes settled today regarding faulty seat warmers that could catch fire that they've known about for years...

Mine been in for both recalls.

As people have said, risk of getting a brand new car. But comforted in knowledge that BMW not just brushing known issues under the carpet.

I owned a f25 and suggesting it's better then the g01 is rediculous.
