New to BMW

Hey guys,

Picked up my 2018 X3 M40i last week and have been enjoying it for the past 450 miles!

Specs:
- Carbon Black Metallic
- Adaptive Cruise
- Parkig Assist
- Executive Package

Really like how this car sounds and moves (excited to go full throttle after 1200 miles). I came from a. 2015 Edge Sport and the only things I miss are cooled seats and remote start.

Can't wait to do some VBox testing, will report back!

Anyone know why the badges changed from top to the bottom of the rear hatch? Like mine?

Thanks

Bmw does strange things like this for no apparent real reason. It’s like whatever higher up exec visiting for the day gets to pick the nuisance change.

Congrats on your new ride and welcome.

Welcome to the forum and BMW!

The car just keeps giving as it gets broken in. Mines is just over 2k miles and it seems to have got a bit noisier as well. Its a great all round car!

I got mine rebadged - glad I did as not too keen on the badges they put on - and makes it easier to seal / polish the car.

Noisier = exhaust noise?

I don't mind the badge placement, not much of an aesthetic guy, more of a speed guy

Yes - loads of crackles and pops! All good!

I wanted no badges so as it just looks like a bog standard X3...until you tear away at the lights!

There's nothing better than a sleeper!

Post a pic when you have it debadged / rebadged.

Is the projected lighting (on the ground) part of the executive package for both the Xline and the M40i? I've never noticed it in a "normal" until now...

Hah, awesome! Congrats, fellow ex-2015 Edge Sport owner, I did the same back in December and couldn't be happier. I got the cooled seats on mine - the only drawback is that the regular M seats are slightly better, IMO. And same as you, I sort of miss the remote start - can't have everything, I guess

Enjoy your new car!

Congrats! Enjoy! While options you mentioned are nice.. I think you're going to be pleased with your upgrade from your Edge.

Badges? You could have dealer remove, like I did. No more worries.. easy peasy cleaning.

As far as I know, it is standard in the U.S.

Hey GT500R, welcome!

I'm not sure why BMW changed it up. It was only in the last 3,500-4,000 of them produced. I think 100,000 total were produced.

Max Well was nice enough to take my "Silver Bullet" and side-by-side compare the badging on the top vs on the bottom. I really am glad it's on the bottom personally.

Nice, I was able to get my Edge to 12.9 @ 106 with a tune and intercooler. I know with a tune this will be a bit quicker

I believe the badge change was due to new models not having space for them above the taillights. The new X5 and X7, for example.
