Questions About Those With OEM Touchscreen & CarPlay

So my question is really targeting a subset of CarPlay users, specifically those that have a Jailbroken phone AND running a jailbreak app that allows you to use all iOS apps with CarPlay, not just the ones Apple restricts you to use.

So my questions are....

1) For those of you that have jailbroken phones AND an OEM touchscreen, does everything still work with the additional iOS apps?

2) For the additional iOS apps (that were not originally designed for CarPlay), do they still work with the iDrive controller, and if so, how well do they work?

Why am I asking? My car ('17 M3) came with NBT EVO w/ID5 and CarPlay. I have been running ID6 Lite coded on my car for a while, but was disappointed with CarPlay primarily because I can't use more of the apps on my phone. However, even if I could (via a Jailbreak) use all of the apps on my phone, most likely all non-CarPlay designed apps will not work well (or at all) with the iDrive controller. From what I have gathered so far, adding the OEM touchscreen to a NBT EVO unit w/ID5 should essentially be plug & play with some additional coding.

IMHO, I think the "cleanest" option to get full use of all iOS apps is with the OEM touchscreen and a jailbroken phone (since I don't see Apple opening up all iOS apps in CarPlay any time soon). Oh, an I understand the risk/benefit of a jailbroken phone - I have done it several times so I am past that concern. But before I invest some $$ on the OEM touchscreen, I wanted some input on my questions above first.

Thanks!

Pretty sure you need NBT EVO2 running full ID6 to retrofit Touchscreen.

Interesting, I did not know about NBT EVO2. If that is the case, then I may not try to add the touchscreen due to the additional $$ for the head unit. Can anyone else confirm?

But I would still like to know how well non-CarPlay apps work with the iDrive controller though....
