Wiper Blades
After 4 months with little rain/snow, my driver side wiper blade is streaking and vibrating toward the end of its cycle. I'm tempted to go to the dealer and get it replaced or maybe just go out and by better blades. Thoughts?

Can't really be worn out in 4-months, unless faulty, or BMW quality has completely dropped off. I've always got 40,000+ miles from a set of OEM wipers, with heavy use in the 'wet' Scottish Highlands.

What I have been told is UV exposer is what wears them out?
Wish BMW had them "park" a little lower to keep them more protected. I have noticed RV owners keep them covered with pipe insulation when there rigs are sitting for long periods. (NO- I am not going to do that, just an illustration) |

Good lord. That's highway robbery, no pun intended.

2020 BMW M40i Bosch ICON wiper blades?
I have a new M40i and I would like to buy some winter blades. I've been to the Bosche website. Does anybody know the part number for Bosch Icon blades? Maybe they don't make them??? Thanks, Mumbler

Bosch A323S are the front set same as the BMW OEM blades, in the UK anyway. I replace my wipers yearly as I find the performance drops off around then (OEM ones were the same). The rear blade is a bit of a nightmare as only BMW made them last time I changed that one.

Pretty sure mine are Icons. Went through the motions (in the rain) at the auto parts store. Finally the store manager had to step in and find the right combo of included adapter parts.
The Icons are so huge they seem like Tonka Toys but man do they perform.

Really? Do you know what you ended up getting, since I can't find wipers online in Canada for my X3. I thought icons don't fit only the aerotwins do.

Have to say I’ve been less than impressed with the quality of the blades on my M40i - seem to leave streaks on the glass very easily, and in today’s wet snow were making some truly horrendous scraping noises, almost as if the rubber was hard from the cold. Only 3 months old as well...

I have tried wiping the blades several times, cleaning the windscreen in case it has small debris spots on it, but it's still the same! I am living with it now, but it annoys me every time it rains. |

I think there is a post on the X1 forum about this. Basically clean the blades, I used neat Flash but in the USA I think it was Dawn. Next although it sounded wrong coat the rubbers with silicon grease before cleaning it off with alcohol. This worked on my rear wiper and no more juddering or smearing.
