Which windshield sunshade fits better?

While shopping for windshield sunshade, I noticed 2 brands have overall better reviews, they are Heatshield and Covercraft. Heatshield's sunshade uses softer material and it can be rolled, Covercraft's UVS100 series only can be folded. Does anyone have purchased these products? Which one fits X3 better? Thanks!

I have the Covercraft UVS100, but actually for/from the F30. It fits my G01 just fine.

I have the Covercraft that I purchased for my Q5 several years ago. It worked for 2 Q5's, my GLE AMG 63s and now for my X3M40. I guess all my windshields have been a similar size.

I have the Covercraft in my 535 and had Heatshield in other cars. I strongly prefer the Covercraft...it doesn't rely on suction cups etc and won't move or have gaps.

the one i bought a few years ago for my F25 is too big. It is a covercraft UVS100. Amazon sells them, but they don't have the G01 listed yet. I am curious what others pick for G01 - I should pick one up and sell the F25 sized one.

I've been a Heatshield user for many years and have always been happy.

Customer service is awesome; I didn't like the mirror cutout for one of my cars, so I sent them a photo showing what I wanted and they made a new one, no charge.

They fit great and are very durable.

I bought the Heatshield for the windshield and front windows. They fit quite well, but the material is very stiff. Rolling them up is a bit awkward, as the material is forced to bend along arbitrary lines (see pic). The front side window covers have suction cups to hold them against the window, but they're not necessary; you can just push the shades into the window opening, and they'll just stay in place. The windshield shade just needs the visors to be flipped down.

Overall, these seem to fit and work well. They don't seem to be the best, quality-wise, but the price also reflects that, and I'm OK with this.

Photos of shade installed?

Would someone be willing to post some photos of the Covercraft sun shade installed in the X3 so others can see how "custom" the fit is? There are a lot of reviews (across all makes/models) on Covercraft's website complaining about poor fit.

$61 plus $15 shipping is pricey for a sun shade ... and apparently you cover the $20 return shipping if you decided to send it back.

Cool. Thanks for the link, E/K.

Are you satisfied with the fit? Does it appear to be design/fitted for the G01, or a carryover from the F25?

I think the mirror-finish shades (like the Heatshield) might redirect more energy, but the fold-able shades (like the Covercraft) are way less cumbersome than the roll-up style.

I don't have a F25 to compare it with, but it does the job for me. We don't have very hot weather in California, but I'm happy with how the Covercraft has performed compared with some of the cheaper shades I've used before.

I bought the Covercraft for the G01. The fit is certainly not perfect, but it's better than any universal-fit shade. I wish it had a more custom fit around the rearview mirror - it lets in quite a bit of light in this area. To fit flush with the windshield it would need a smaller notch for the bottom of the mirror housing. If the shade did not get hung on the mirror housing (and would rest flat against the windshield) I think it would reject more heat.

I purchased a new car that does not have tinted windows and also has black leather seats and of course black steering wheel. I did not realize how much a difference tinted windows make until I sat in the car on the first hot day. My seat was on fire and I couldn't touch the steering wheel. Looked at Autoamerics shades on here and decided to give them a try. They are wonderful. Easy to put up easy to take down and fold up easily to place in pocket on door. They fit perfect, I turned them in directions that fit my wind shield, used the little strap things on my visor and pushed they down to help keep them in place and it's a nice fit. Super easy to do, takes a minute. My car is so much better getting into now , they block a lot of the sun. Highly recommend. Delivery was fast if You from USA.

I bought it from amazon

Which size of the Autoamerics shade did you purchase for the X3, the Standard (Medium) or Max (Large)?
