Throttle with DSC Off

Did I miss something?

When I turn DSC completely off the throttle reverts to comfort setting. WTF?

Throttle is in "Sport" setting with DSC off. Most aggressive throttle setting can only be used in Sport+ for whatever reason.

It's supposed to make it easier to control the car at the limit by allowing the most throttle response possible given the mechanical limits of the pedal itself. i.e. 0% is no pressure, 100% is the pedal being on the floor. In other modes your throttle is just ramped to get to 100% before the pedal is actually at the floor.

DSC "off" gives you the linear throttle setting, which is best for modulating. The sport+ throttle would be great, with DSC-off, but just for hooning and drifting, it's too sensitive on track or at the limits, imo.

My heel toe shifting is thrown off all the time in DSC OFF because I am so used to the sport+ throttle. Takes me sometime to get used to soft throttle response to get the heel toe shift right but then I again go back to sport+ and I have to start over again.

I think it goes to sport if you have TPMS and comfort if you don't have TPMS installed

Huh?

TPMS has been a standard feature Federal Law for years. Meaning... 11 years.

So, fairly certain that's a given that someone has it installed.

Were your meaning something else?

I think he means if you have aftermarket wheels, for instance, sans TPMS sensors.

Preach! I always have to hit it harder than I think to get the revs to match. I also find the M2 harder to heel toe than my old 997. Could be just that an NA engine is easier to predict or I just don’t have enough seat time in the M2.

In case you didn't know, there are countries outside of the USA.

Canada and Asia do not get TPMS on the M2.

Whoa. Really.

Damn... what did I miss.

He is in Texas, I'm in Maryland.

Where are they again?

/// But you're right, I could have made that more clear.

It sucks eh. I know everyone is saying it reverts to Sport but it feels slow and 'comforty' to me. Ugh

Yep. Seems more drastic then just Sport+ to Sport.

My other car doesn't do that. If it does I have not noticed in 3.5 years and 43k Miles. Lol.

Sport mode feels just slightly more responsive than comfort mode for me. I still get engine hesitation when I shift into 2nd pretty much every time, have to account for it with the pedals (this is DSC I believe). Sport +, never any at all, shifting is extremely smooth.

I think on the comp version you will be able to select throttle mapping even with DSC off?

For me Sport vs Comfort is like day and night. Huge difference. Just as it is represented, it feels to me like it fits right in the middle between the lazy Comfort throttle response, and the hair trigger Sport+ response.

Yes if you have track wheels or whatever without TPMS and you turn traction control all the way off the throttle goes to comfort which sucks.

I understand I'm a little wet behind the ears as far as M2 ownership is concerned, but can someone tell me about the 'drivelogic'?

Drive logic sets how fast and how hard the DCT transmission shifts, and if in auto mode when it shifts. The M2 doesn't have a way to control this, but the M2C and other M cars do. For the N55 M2 shifting speed is controlled by what mode the car is, but you can't change JUST the "drive logic" settings.

Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

I'm just confused as to why it's mentioned in the table that's been posted on this thread, if it's not applicable to the M2?
