I just turned on EBT on my 2017 440ix and something seems od, although that may just be the way it works. I could always make and receive phone calls through an android phone. With EBT, I turned on the office functions. As before, when there is an incoming call, I get a notification on the iDrive screen. Now, through the message option, I can send a new SMS message. If a connected phone has a text message, I can dictate a reply via the car's Bluetooth, but an incoming SMS notification comes to the phone. There is no notification on the iDrive and no option to reply or read the text. I can look for the message and manually reply. Somewhere the notification of the receipt is lost. I don't know if this is a problem with a phone setting, a car setting or this is the way it works.
