Mines not as bad as yours, but I got one too in first few days. Also a couple of small windscreen chips and one on the black window trim.

It happens....unless you don't drive.

I know you can get touchup paints in exact colours but that's not something Iv'e ever looked further into or tried.

Its frustrating when this happens, but it can be made to look perfect again.

Don't attempt to do the touch up yourself.

Take you car back to the dealer. Ask to speak with the pre-owned vehicle manager. Show them the car because here in the the states this is the person who is responsible for making trade-ins look new through detailing and cosmetic repair. He or she will have a list of paint touch-up specialists that will either do the work on site at the dealership or come to your home to do the touch up. Cost 75.00 - 125.00 USD.

Sorry to see this. I have used Dr. Color Chip for a number of years and have had really great results with chips. It will never be perfect but a pretty good coverup and better than a blob of paint sitting on top of the paint. We all know it is inevitable, but it still hurts. As a matter of fact, I just came in from washing my car and buffed out a small scratch that ran across my rear driver side door.

How far up the hood is this? I am picking up my car on Friday and getting the 3M done on Monday, just wondering if I shouldn't get the whole hood wrapped after seeing this travesty.

Third world america. I have a chip on my glass and all I did was drive on the highway. American Roads resemble 3rd world country roads. We'd rather let the 1% and corporations keep their tax dollars than fix our infrastructure. All you have to do is go to a foreign country to realize how run-down america really is.

it happens if you drive on crappy roads and highways. My last car didn't have as much as a windshield chip after 36k miles. But I didn't have to drive the car killer known as NJ 287 everyday when I had that car.

It is sad to see this At least here in LUX and DEU roads and especially autobahn are clean, smooth and supervised I think all of us can imagine what can happen to your G01 when you driving at the speed more than 200 km/h

Where I live the highways are horrible(secondary roads worse). Rutted with potholes. The loose gravel from the potholes gets thrown by cars and trucks onto other cars, which in my case cracked my windshield. You have to keep a pothole database in your mind because the second that you are not scanning the road for potholes "Bam!!!" you hit one. I've never seen the roads this bad. Changing lanes can be a disaster because they repair the potholes that are by the lane lines last. And if you pull over make sure there isn't a drop off that shreds your tire's sidewalls. Most Americans are too proud to talk about this but our roads are horrible.

I've only had my car for 2 1/2 months and you can see the damage done to the paint from flying pothole rocks, I have a crackled windshield (highway 287) and destroyed a run-flat tire on a pothole that I hit while driving on "Main St" in my home town.

I've been on some pretty bad US roads. I feel lucky that up in the PNW the roads are fairly well maintained. But with essentially one main corridore (I5) running thru here we get more than our share of flying debris from 18 wheelers.

You won't regret the clear mask. I have it on all my cars and it has saved the paint on a number of occasions.

That's what got me was an 18 wheeler. It is so bad that if you pass one you can hear the small rocks hitting your vehicle. Americans should be embarrassed at the condition of our roads.

I have a tiny dent/nick on my side because of a flying rock during the bad weather. The roads in NYC and much of the LIE is pathetically bad too. They've really made it a low priority to fix the roads here after a bad winter.

That being said, I drive in Jacksonville and Orlando in Florida and the roads there seem to be better kept. I think roads of high volume are typically the crappiest.

I am definitely getting it put on, just wondering about the extent of the hood to wrap and any other problem areas. They put pea gravel on the road here because salt doesn't work in severe cold, so without the clear bra the front is pretty chippy after a couple winters.

I used to think that too but the NYS thruway is fine. Just got off it. But that road is known as one of the best kept roads in the country. The Garden State and palisades pky is fine too. But they dont allow any commercial traffic on those roads, no trucks. The NYS thruway allows trucks and doesn't suffer from any of the pothole issues. The NYS thruway is maintained by the state, and they didn't cheap out when it came time to pave it. The other highways are maintained by whatever towns they go thru and they always offer contracts to the lowest bidder.

On 287 you can actually see a line where the pavement changes and the roads go from tolerable to super crappy. It's where the town of Boonton starts.

Did the NYS Thruway eliminate the tolls? If so, then that would be amazing if they still keep it in good shape. But I fear that it's still a toll road.

It’s quite high ... probably abt 10 cm from the windscreen.

Yes agreed, on the bright side it’s not the windscreen. Am getting it fixed as I can’t live with it, it’s too obvious and I’ll see it every time I was the car
