2nd microphone wiring

I have Bluetooth Audio and was getting ready to do the coding to turn on EBT. I read that EBT normally comes with a 2nd microphone on the passenger's side. I thought that if it could be added easily, I would do that at the same time. I pulled off the grill and confirmed that there was no mic. I looked into the little hole with a flashlight and couldn't find anything that seemed like a free cable, but there were things I could feel. Nothing felt like the connector I hoped for. On eBay, I can find microphones with and without cables. Does anybody know if the cables are present under the headliner? Does the headliner need to be removed to add one? Where do the cables run? I only want to add the mic if it is fairly easy. Car is 2017 F32 440i with navigation.

Thanks

I installed a second mic on my F30 and it’s not very difficult if you know your way around you car.The headliner doesn’t need to come off you just need to remove the visor on the passenger side and the A pillar trim to route the cabling , you will need to cut the headliner to install the mic though.Cabling can be nicely routed behind the airbag and down the Pilar down to the bottom of the dashboard and across behind to the NBT.

Connect the 2 wires to pin 18 and 19 on to the back of the NBT connector as per below.

Rewire Microphone Passenger +ve - pin 18 -ve - pin 19
