Comp Pack car or not - if it was going to cost you nothing!

Quick poll for anyone that would care to comment, please. I need to make a decision today...

I've found a great deal on an F10. It's nearly new and as such the deal works out very competitive against 64-15 plate cars. Only slight reservation is that it has the standard seats, but other than that it has the bits I'd like except reverse camera, and I can have a local coder retrofit that.

Anyway, I'd driven an 63 plate LCI on 19s yesterday and found it a wonderful machine.

But for only 10% more, I can buy a 66 car with competition pack and service pack.

So, while I would pay a little bit extra for the newer car anyway, am I going to regret the competition pack? I won't get chance to drive a Comp Pack today.

My main reservation is possible degradation of ride quality due to the stiffer springs and dampers. Or are the cars pretty much the same in Comfort, anyway?

I've driven lots of both and honestly wouldn't worry about the Competition Package suspension, in Comfort the ride quality on a CP is still far better than my M Sport E92 330i or F30 335i.

Since my reply about the competition pack and the question about the competiton pack, a poll has been added asking about a "Comfort Pack"

That's called a freudian slip. I was thinking 'comfort' when I meant to write competition

I've also since found a significant difference in insurance prices between non Comp and Comp cars.

Does this mean you've now ruled it out? I wouldn't have though the cost would be that great, but then you never can tell these days.

The service pack would be very handy though, always nice to drive into a BMW dealer for service and drive back out without paying them anything.

I'm sat on the fence at the moment. Perhaps I'll have a drive of it before making a final decision!

The Comp pack would be a must have if it was available, the M Perf seats would also be a must have option.

Deal done on CP car (with normal seats)

Can't wait to pick it up.

Service pack to 9/21
New discs and pads negotiated
Recent MPSS
343s
Adaptive LED, HK, heated everything and a couple of other options.
Really good price, end of quarter deal.

Didn't finance much of it, but the 20% that I did was HP at 3.9APR. I wanted BMWFS to have an interest in the car to use as leverage down the line in case of warranty or service issues.

Nice one!

Be good to hear a write up when you have it.

First impressions are that it's a lovely motor. Drives very different from the F10 550i that I had (and didn't gel with) a couple of years ago.
