Navigation Tip

I recently returned my BMW at lease end and bought a C Class Merc. One feature I really missed was the ability to search for destinations on the BMW app and 'Send to Car'. Just wasn't working on the Merc even though they have an app and it should do.

Well I found a workaround to this that works great and I'm curious if it also works on BMWs:

Just search in Apple Maps on your iPhone for the destination, then when it comes up 'Create New Contact'. When you get in the car it syncs contacts from your phone to the car's nav in seconds. Any contacts from the phone with address field completed in the correct sections are now in the Nav as destinations. Android users can do the same using Google Maps.

You can send destinations to your BMW from the BMW Connected app. I do it all the time.

There is no need to use Apple Maps To find the address, as you can just use address Finder / map in the connected Drive app

I have been putting addresses into my contacts and then pulling up the address in the nav system for years. Have not used Apple Maps to put them into my contacts though.

Thanks, good to know. I find this even easier than using the Connected Drive app. This method seems to work on BMW, Merc and Audi then as my gf has a Q5 which it also works on.
