Not happy Sat-NAV miles out of date and

Registered for 3D viewing and the app does not work!!! WTF.
Checked the Nav and it 's dated 2017-3 miles out of date and I have not got the option of updates!!, can I get these anywhere?.
I am going to complain tomorrow to the dealership.
Connected drive have tried everything to put the 3D right , still fecked.
So much for a new car in March this year having out of date software.

Connected Drive has been offline for few days. It's working for me now. Check if your connection is working as without that 3D view wouldn't work.

As for maps, I agree that's it's pretty poor from the dealer to not update the car before delivery. We know 2017-4 is out now. I updated my maps few months ago by downloading it to the computer. You need a fairly sizeable USB drive (64GB+) to copy the maps to the car. On the other hand, once connected Drive is working you should be able to update the maps over the air. I don't really know how it triggers but seems like there's no way of doing it ourselves.

I checked and I need to pay £69 to get USB updates!!, what a cheek charging for this.
I will contact the dealers Monday and get some info, but this 3D view I paid for still does not show /work!!

John I currently have this reported. I think there is some confusion

OTA updates should be included for your own country, however USB updates are paid for but inc all other Euro countries. However having said that there appears to be a problem with some connected drive services apparent from this and other forums.

Others have had OTA updates in the last couple of weeks but I haven't, had my car 2 weeks today.

Hi Alan, I am confused also, Coopers say they will update my car when I get back from Holiday around the 7th April, so that helps, but the 3D View on the App does nothing, and I paid extra for it!!, so I will be onto Connected drive asap.
PS) OTA updates not listed on my contract!.

You should have USB map updates also free. I don't know what exactly is required for it but I have it enabled. I only paid for Connected Drive Services, Remote Services and Apple CarPlay. I haven't bought anything extra via the store.

I've paid for remote services and 3d view, one off £60 and its working fine. There's a lot of development to do, the apps are slow and glitchy.

I am not registered for any updates according to Connected drive!!, never had this before with any BMW.
Anyway when I get back Coppers will update the car free., still NO 3D veiwing though.

John, I have Remote Services which I paid for which includes 3D view but Surround view is only because I have Parking Assistant Plus. I assume it's because I have all cameras.

That was the case when I ordered back in July 2017, not sure its still the same.

Yep I ordered "Surround View" Parking Assistant Plus also, so it should be working.

You should try the offline (USB) update. I've previously done the USB update on an F10, not G30, but assume the process is the same. Rather painless really - just download the .exe, which then downloads the maps and puts them onto a memory stick. You get an activation code emailed to your connected drive account.

When you log into connected drive , it should be there as one of the options

There is another thread about this and it seems some people get this listed (like myself) and others do not for some reason.

I thought this was free for the the first 3 years.
Now whether bmw have changed this or if this is a mistake / bug on their software I don't know.

I had remote services as an option and not sure whether that is relevant or not.

If you can go into connected drive web website and. Post up what your booked services are so we can see what you have.

3D is listed but not Map updates.
Connected drive are contacting Germany about the App not working for the 3D view, Coopers will update my car when I get back in two weeks or so, still not happy that things are not on my contract as all other new cars have had all these things. Anyway I a have told Connected drive I do not intent to spend £69 on USB updates, if the other App's don't work.
See what they come back with.
3D view should work on your home computer, it does not on mine.

If you look at this thread, I posted a screen shot of what I have listed in my connected site.

I assumed that what I have , is the same for everyone (at least in the UK) whereby you have free OTA upgrades (belive up to 4 a year) and free USB map updates

My understanding is that the OTA updates are for your own coountry ie UK only and the USB map is an update for the Europe.
So unless you are travveling abroad, the OTA updates I belive should cover it. I downloaded the USB map really just for the hell of it rather than any particular reason.

I've just logged on now to the connected drive website and I can see Europe Evo 2018-1 is available (I have one from 2017 on my car at present)
For automatic updates, it shows my region as UK/Ireland. This can be changed to other countries in Europe if desired.

A to why you are not seeing these as booked services doesn't make any sense to me. Only BMW are going to be able to answer that.

Mine is short of USB updates and Auto Map Updates!!.
