ACS springs fitted + spacers

Had the ACS springs fitted on the 8th March together with 10mm spacers front & 12mm spacers rear.

Lorcan was extremely helpful arranging the springs & spacers & also recommending the best fitting centre near me (Awesome GTI in Irlam) Communication was excellent thru out the whole process.

The springs have lowered the car approx 20mm all round. The Hunter wheel alignment showed the car was quite far out - not sure how that happened as only checked late last year by local BMW dealership

As soon as I drove it back I thought the car felt more planted in the corners with definitely less body roll. Ride is also smoother. Wouldn't say that Comfort mode is now similar to Sport mode handling but definitely a vast improvement all round. Assume the spacers have added to the handling improvement. Glad I went for the 10mm & 12mm, rather than 12mm & 15mm.

All in the price was £799. so fairly happy with the result... Will take pic of the car soon so as to show before & after (have the before it's just getting decent weather for the after pic..)

What car have you got please, am considering doing this with my X-drive 4GC to get rid of the SE springs and massive arch gap!! Does anybody know if fitting ACS springs causes any issues for the X-drive? Also, regarding the wheel alignment, I always thought you had to wait a month or so after fitment of springs to allow the suspension to settle properly?

I fitted 10's and 12's to my F30 and much preferred it, I tried 15's on the rear but felt like the wheels were pushed too far out, 10 and 12 was a good compromise for me personally.

There are no issues with fitting springs to xDrive cars. If anything they benefit more from them than RWD cars.

With modern production methods and suspension geometry there is no need to wait before the alignment check is done, it can be done immediately after fitting. Settling is minimal. We have specific spring kits for the GC.

Cheers for that Lorcan, that's great. Will be in touch with you at some point in the future to get some ordered, cheers also for the clarification regarding alignment checks post fitment. Is it better to get the ACS springs fitted by BMW as my car is relatively new and still under warranty. Thanks

It doesn't matter warranty wise whether they are fitted at a BMW dealer or not, but where you are I'd certainly recommend ordering them from Sandal BMW Wakefield. Speak to anyone in the parts department there for an all-in price.

Don't think your photos are quite big enough, you might want to try making them even bigger.

How do I go about making them bigger?

If I know how to make them bigger then I'll know how to make them smaller too.

Taken with my iPhone and uploaded to Imgur, it's kind of the limits of my picture posting knowledge. However, you have my sympathies if it's causing you sleepless nights - they look quite normal on my screen.

Have a look a the thread I quoted above. Wheel / tyre size and combination affect which spacers look best.

My recommendation is to buy 12mm spacers and try them AFTER you have lowered the car. Then you can decide if they should go on the front or the back wheels and buy 10/15mm spacers to suit.

Ha ha ha, I'm looking at them on a piggin' monitor and scrolling out

Personally I'm surprised you're even bothering to post them via Imgur, I just "manage attachments" underneath the "message" box.

Sorry mate! They're fine on my laptop.

I use Imgur as I post them in other places, wonder if I can manage them from there and make them smaller. Will try.

Just curious, does anybody on here know if any of the Sytner branches supply and fit the ACS Springs and Spacers.

I am a reasonable distance of Leicester and Coventry dealers.

Looks good

Did you have to get longer wheel bolts or did you just use the original ones that came with the car?

Cheers
