it will be gone after LCI.. Since back in the E36 days.. they always start out with the gray plastic rockers and such and switch to body color at LCI after expenses have reduced due to production costs being amortized over time. I hate the gray also.

true story.. M sport option is a good way to escape it prior to LCI. Fortunately I also enjoy the better wheel and tire options as well as seats etc for the M sport package..

I prefer it over the usual black plastic that many SUVs offter, plus it can contrast really nicely with some colors, especially black sapphire, but if you can also get regular cladding on the non-m sport X2

Pretty interesting vid, now I know why a god damn 3 series or m3 can cost close to 100k! All that bullshit state of the art ergonomic support stuff and tech! Weakens muscles your employees are end up in worse shape than to begin with.

The grey is the M Sport X which is the upgrade model in the US, you can't get the regular M Sport.

Your only choice in for the US models is the basic with unpainted black trim or M Sport X with Frozen Grey trim. You can not purchase color matched trim X2 in the US since the M Sport pack is not offered. If a person thinks the Frozen Grey trim is hideous, than they are out of luck.

I was referring to the Grey trim around the wheel well area and in the front and back.

Clearly it is painted either way on the m sport including in North America.

The M Sport package is not available in the US. I don't have a Canadian ordering guide, so maybe you can get the M Sport pack in Canada. But in the US, you're not able to get body colored trim around the fender areas. You either get the basic unpainted black or the M Sport X's Frozen Grey.

I guess that goes well with front wheel drive.

Go figure.

I saw one this week at Park Lane BMW (London). It was in Galvanic Gold. I was surprised that the colour was not as bright as I expected. As with Phytonic blue it seems that the marketing dept at BMW is "brightening" things up a bit.
