Wrapped my mirrors

I had some gloss ember black 3M wrap laying around from when I did my trim and said why don't I just do my mirrors after 1 year of it sitting in my closet. So I did and let me tell you it's not an easy job obviously. I'm not a professional but have done many interior pieces for my friends and enjoy doing it and they say it comes out very well. So I tried to do it and first I tried it on the car and it was hard wrapping on the bottom and just almost impossible to get it on the inside bottom corner as the wrap got all bundle up a bit from the curves but the other side I took off the mirror and it was a bit easier but still challenging and it came out better then the other side but not perfect but still doable and not any noticeable imperfections. You got to have a lot of patience and I mean ALOT and somewhat experience. Here are some pics

Nice job.

I was going to wrap my mirrors in CF 3M vinyl.. i got everything I needed, and well, the mirrors were too difficult to do. I only have minimal experience with wrapping - my most complex is probably my grille - and well, I tried a few different times on my mirrors, used a lot of heat to try to match the curve and I just couldnt get it.
I think if I had someone helping me, it wouldve been pretty easy as one person could hold the mirror while the other stretched the vinyl... however, by myself I didnt have enough hands.

So good job, I know how much of a PITA this is!!!

... I ended up buying CF overlays off of ebay and used them instead of wrapping them... I like my overlays, and is "real" CF.

I can relate all too well. I wrapped the wood trim in my E93 a few months back. It didn't give me any problems during the project so I felt pretty comfortable progressing to other things. Last week I attempted smoking/tinting my tail lights......it was not an enjoyable project to say the least.

yea, thats another good point, with the way you have to heat it up and stretch it, the CF "weave" looks all skewed and not straight.

What a total PITA!!! haha
