They are not very comfortable. Get sports seats if at all possible. (But go sit in both @ dealership to check for yourself)

By the way, you ordered your X1 4 days after I ordered mine, so I wonder if you've yet been able to track the build via VIN number, or whatever. Dealer simply says my car is due for build week 9 with delivery around 19/26 March. I'm on the Staffs/Derbyshire border close to the Peak District. |

It's a well discussed, personal preference issue. I am just over 6 foot and 15 stone - I have standard seats and think they are fine. I have driven from Durham to Southampton and when I got out felt like I could have driven back. BTW I have electric seat adjustment and lumber adjustment

I never thought I would say this, but for us, the standard seats are not an issue. They are odd looking, firm and small but both my wife and I have adjusted and are comfortable with them. I agree, they are not a strong point with the X1 but are working out for us. I wonder if and when BMW will revise the standard seats?

Have you seen the updated BMW UK website? If you go into the 'Build your own' for the X1 it now lists a 'Travel Pack' in 'Packages' as a no-cost option that includes various things, one of which is a set of luggage retaining nets. I don't suppose they'll be included in our car specs, but hope I'm wrong! It seems to be generally a much more user friendly site |

Sport seats are good to sit in, however they are slightly more difficult to get in and out than the standard seat, and a fully electric adjustable version is not available at present
The standard seats are acceptable but could be a lot better. Perhaps this will be one of the items being considered in the light update due later this year. |

The 2 Active Tourer facelift which has just been announced includes "longer seat cushions" on the standard seats. Since these are the same as the X1 (Just mounted lower) presumably they will be coming to the X1.
Personally this could be a problem, since they might no longer fit my wife (So this will rule out my next car being another X1 ). |

x1 standard seats
Got my F48 a couple of weeks ago. The front seats are still bearable (am 5 ft 10) but the rear ones are terrible. Thigh support is non-existent, and just a few minutes of travel has given me a back ache (they are super stiff). Any suggestions to set this right?

Does your X1 have the moveable/reclineable rear seat? I've only had one complaint from an adult riding in the back, and that was understandable given the backrest had been adjusted to a near vertical position. Easy fix, and no complaints on the subsequent 2hr trip

After reading many posts on this forum and every road test, I went with the general consensus of get Sports seats. Let’s hope using other people’s opinions to make my choice pays off

I found the standard seats very uncomfortable (5' 11" and 15 stone), the rim of the seat was digging into the back of my thighs, but maybe it's me. The sports seats are better especially the cloth seats in the M Sports. They have a bit more give and are not as firm.
