Battery Help

Hi,

Got to my car yesterday after work and it was completely dead , cut a long story short got RAC out who got me going and tested battery to show ok (no cells down) . Drove home about 10 miles car fine , started fine this morning just checked voltage and it is at 12.45v and charging fine at 14.5v . I dont have a dash cam or any other items plugged in to be draining it . I am happy to get a new battery and get my local indy to register it but unsure it is the battery at fault , i have bought a power pack as back up in case it happens again , but any info or advice is very much appreciated cheers.

I would think it was a minor electrical glitch opposed to battery related in that case. Exactly what though, I have no idea. I'd check the battery terminals are tight & just see how it goes & if it happens again, then think about getting it looked at.

I have a jump start battery pack in the car. Never thought I'd need it but at a full-day geometry setup the ignition was in for less by periods and I think the air-con fan was left running. Result; insufficient charge in battery to start the engine (330d).

Connected it to the terminals in the engine bay : started first time.

Something like Comfort Access, (if you have it), shorts or glitches can run a battery down fast. How do I know....?

If the car doesn't go into sleep mode, potential for a drain as well.

I see you have a 320i... possible electric water pump/relay/sensor issue. Pumps are known to run on and flatten the battery.
