BMW Service? Worth the money?

Hi, i have just bought a 2013 3 series 318d and it is overdue a service. I was wanting to take the car for a BMW service but noticed it can be quite expensive (upwards of £400)

Is this really worth it? Do they do anything any other mechanic may not be able to do? The car has just come out of it's warranty.

Thanks

Honestly, no.
Find a nice trustworthy local shop(maybe one that specializes in BMW's). They'll provide the same quality of work and sometimes even better.

Thankyou

Noticed these guys offer a service with full checks and replacements for only £101 and even collect/return the car!

Check out the UK section of the forum - perhaps someone local to you has a recommendation. Good luck!

It depends what kind of service your car needs, routine maintenance or not. For more complex diagnostics, the dealer will be a better destination, although more expensive of course.

Look up 'servicingstop problems' in a search engine.

Absolutely notorious for finding 'problems' and the bill being a lot higher than initially quoted.

Also, BMW dealers offer reduced price servicing for cars 4+ years old. look up 'BMW value service' on BMW GB website.

There is a reason why we call it the stealership....

if you car is newer less than 50k, there really isnt much servicing you need. You can pay double the price at the dealership for the same service a local indy can do.
