Has anyone got a good deal on a Launch Edition car?

I'm potentially interested in the F90 Launch Edition. However would want a solid discount given the historic depreciation rates on M5s.

Has anyone been able to get a good deal? GOLFFRR ?

I dont see any dealer discounting any of the launch cars. If you remember when the last gen M5 came out they were selling at MSRP and up and allocations were very low. With all new M car releases the first units will always be tough to get discounts on, however as time goes on you will see discounts I would imagine

I don't recall that. I bought my 2013 M5 at launch for ED Invoice plus $1000. A lot of us did actually.

And a year later I got the LCI at launch for ED invoice + 1200

Awesome! Im sure there will be some deals out there, but in SoCal area where Im at it will be tough based off what I have seen. Us personally will always try and discount when we can like we do for all models, it just comes down to allocations for us. If we are only getting say 1 per month it hard to discount much.

If I recall correctly, the ED BMW M5s back then didn't count towards dealer allocations, so it was effectively "free" for the dealers and they would want to move as many units as possible. You'll probably see pretty good discounts again if that scenario repeats itself.

In Chicagoland, my dealer has 1 allocation for February. Not offering any discount on launch edition, YET Once car sits for 1-2 months on the floor, then discounts will start coming

For the 2013 M5s the cars were exempt from dealer allocation for the first 4 weeks. However after that the cars came from dealer allocation. My second M5 was certainly from dealer allocation.

I'm sure we will see good discounts within months. I'm already being offered 8% off on an E63S and that's only been out 2 months.

I suspect the 4 week exemption helped absorb a lot of initial launch demand and moved a bunch of cars for BMW.

Once dealer ordered M5s starts to sit on lots (rather than priority 1 ordered for customer or immediately sold before/upon arrival), that's when we will see prices drop below MSRP.

Don't know MF yet, but $109k build + gas guzzler + destination with 15k miles/yr and 36 months came to ~$1650ish + tax. All in about $1780 ish. Residual was 58%.

This was just an estimate, gotta dig into the MF once it arrives.

The residual on the F10 M5s were 48% for 15k/3 year at launch.

So 58% is a nice improvement.

Not an unreasonable question at all. I picked up my 2013 at the Welt in September 2012, at $1500 over European invoice. I would be happy to see this happen again.

That's a pretty good residual and I am assuming MSRP pricing. Are you working with a Bay Area dealer? If so, can you PM me who you are working with? I am thinking of ordering a car within the next few weeks.

There was a period during the F10 M5 launch where ED deliveries did not count towards dealer allocations, so it was effectively free for the dealers. Obviously they wanted to move as many units as humanly possible (no need to worry about whether another customer came along next week offering more money for a build slot you had already sold) so you got great pricing. No idea if it will happen again this time.

Eh.....they are going to have to do better than that. My M6 GC was $300-400 less per month and it's a better looking car.

If that's where they have pricing at, discounts will be coming. No way most people are going to pay $1700/month when you can get the M550 for half that.

I am going to pay that. I didn't want the M550. I don't care paying 2x for what I want.

And of course discounts will be coming. Every car gets discounted. Just not out the gate...

Haven't updated my forum profile in many years. My M5 order was placed last year and it's currently on the Liberty carrier headed for port Hueneme. Should take delivery soon. So yeah, not just big talk.
