Where to go for service
Hello,
I've had my 63 plate F31 for a little over 6 months. In about 2-3months it will be due a service (oil change and break fluid change) and an MOT. Its done just over 60kmiles I live in the Southampton area so as far as i can work out i have 3 choices on where to go. 1)BMW dealer in Eastleigh/Chandlers ford 2)Bartley independent BMW specialist in Totton 3)Brystone independent BMW specialist outside Totton I've not been in touch yet to get some quotes but was wondering if there was any experience of those three places? I'm assuming that the main dealer will be more expensive but is it worth it? especially as will be the first service i've done on the car. The previous owner used a independent BMW specialist. |

Yes. Go onto the BMW website and you'll find a section where you can get pricing. Your local dealer should match that price - though they may need a 'nudge' to do so.
Make sure you get the price confirmed in writing. |

I've got a few quotes from the places above. Main dealer obviously most expensive by a reasonable margin. ~£140 difference between BMW and cheapest.
The previous owner of my car got it serviced at an independent garage and the service history is not showing up in idrive. It is stored on the BMW servers though. If i got it serviced at BMW would all the history from the previous services be synced to the idrive? |
