F90’s About to Ship

Anyone else following their cars? Mine is in Bremerhaven port about to ship. That puts in into the Port Hueneme the end of January. Should start seeing them on the road soon!

I don't know if it is an HEA car. My M4 was coming off lease and this one was due about the same time in Feb, so I ordered it back in August. Come to find out, it was the first one for them, so maybe that makes it an HEA. First time I've ordered one, so it is kind of fun to watch it progress through the process.

You might check with your dealer. The BMW website still shows mine in Germany since before Christmas. The website is way behind. My dealership just got updated 2 days ago and sent me a screen shot from their system showing I am on the ship arriving Feb 2nd.

Let us know when you take delivery. Is your port Baltimore? I know the ship stops there, I think Jan 18, before it comes to California. My F10 was held up for a while because of some emissions crap. I know the E63's were held up for months and held in the ports. I hope they release them right away.

The F90 M5s are already CARB approved (PDF), so I assume there shouldn't be emissions-related holds this time.

You can track your M5 shipping if you know the VIN. Enter your VIN in the Cargo ID box https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?fra...uickSearchPage

Look at the vessel name and place it in the search box here, www.marinetraffic.com

Now you know exactly where your car is.

Mine is on the Thalatta, arriving in Port Hueneme on 2/11

We are actually picking up the car at Steve Thomas BMW, so it will be arriving at Port Hueneme.

From our understanding there might be a hold on them till the official U.S launch date which isnt till middle/late February. I remember a selected few were able to get their hands on theirs before the F10 M5 was launched though.

Great information, we just checked that site and we are on the same ship.

If you want a car now above all, your best bet is to buy one off from stock, and only the E63S is available in stock right now. Even the earliest HEA (dealer demo) M5s are not yet in the US.

If you get an M5 allocation tomorrow and your car goes into production immediately after, you are still looking at 8-10 weeks or so to delivery. Realistically if you get a March production slot, you are looking at a May or June delivery.

Anyone get their HEA car in the East Coast yet?

Mine arrived at the Baltimore port on 2/7 and is supposed to finish up EPA and customs by 2/13 and "supposedly" shipped to dealer.

What is this I keep hearing about it being on hold until US official debut date of March?!?
