BMW Wiring /AWG and Color Coding

Examining BMW wiring schematics.

Typical wiring is shown as 2.50, 0.75 0.5 and 0.35

For example, 2.50 falls somewhere between 13 and 14 if I am reading conversion charts correctly and 0.35 is somewhere between 21 and 22.

So how would these convert to North American AWG standard gauge?

What is typical composite of the wiring? Shielding?

Also, is there a place to purchase assortments of wiring colors with specific stripes (if less than roll, even better) if one wanted to keep OEM wiring colors? eBay and Amazon are surprisingly limited in this area. Even RealOEM lists a very limited selection.

Or is there a place to get correct mm2 sizes in USA with good assortment of color and stripe varieties?

Belmetric.com has 2.0mm Sheathed Wire / Outer Diameter: 2.7mm Insulation Material in black, red & blue - in a roll or by the meter.

The only wire that would likely be shielded is the antenna lead. Since the signal from the head unit to the radio amp is digital it probably doesn't need to be shielded, although it might be.
