F30 Rust car seats covered by CPO?
Hey guys,
So I was doing some digging around on the forums and saw that a common issue with my F30 (pre prod date of 11/12) was the rust seat rails on both front car seats and unfortunately my car has this issue. A ton of RUST! I wanted to see if anyone had any luck getting this covered through the CPO warranty? I saw the new car warranty helped out with plenty of people but my car is unfortunately past the new car warranty. I ask this bc I called my local dealer and they said rust is not covered under the CPO supposedly. Any help is appreciated! |

I have slightly rusted seats. 02/2012 production f30 328i. Took it in and BMW told me there was no way I could prove that I did not spill stuff that caused the rust so it would not be covered by warranty.

I have NEVER seen a F30 front seat frame without rust on it (often on the frame under the leather). I know my car has never had spills or water damage. Last month saw it on 2 F30s built slightly over 24 months ago. One from Germany and one from Canada. Both identical to a 4 year old car I own with rust on seat frames.
It is very obvious to me this is an issue on all the seat frames that most people will never see. |
