starting to appreciate my 340i xdrive

Had this car for 8 months. 13k miles now - 2017 6MT, msport, MPPSK, nav. I initially was disappointed with the lack of sporty feel, steering and awful behavior of the runflats. But since I put on the winter tires, Michelin Alpin PA4s I have started to enjoy the serenity, refinement and compliance of this vehicle. Seems to take good care of me - the seat heaters are fabu, the interior is well thought out and user friendly (mostly) and the car certainly is fast. Really can appreciate how well the suspension is engineered now for all conditions - especially the crappy roads I frequently drive on -it does drive much better with good tires and in sport mode the exhaust is fun. So - while I realize now I'm probably more of an M car driver (just want that edge this car is missing), I will enjoy the three years in this very comfortable car appreciating what it is -a very refined and competent all-arounder.

Would be curious to know if you used a square setup with the PA4s. I did and it convinced me to go square next summer with PSS. I found turn in being much more neutral with the square setup even though winter tires are to soft to be really sporty. PSS in staggered 225/255 are sporty and confortable/compliant but it makes the car understeer while the chassis is much more competent.

I have PA4's in 245 square for winter and would, in general, agree with what you're saying. 225's are just a bit skinny.
