Grinding noise when reversing?

My Automatic F30 gets a grinding noise when I put it into reverse gear, and another slighter grinding noise when I put it back into Drive gear. Anybody know the cause/solution/cost for this?

Are you fully stopped when this happens?

The first question is whether the vehicle is under a warranty, factory or CPO. These sounds are not normal.
