High pitch noise
Hello guys I need your help. I have a 2014 335i all stock with about 30k on the clock. The car is making a high pitch sound only above 15mph the sound does not vary with speed or change in pitch. Its been at dealer now for about 2 weeks with no luck. They had tried replacing my brakes, the fuel pump, and the my put a different set of rims and tire on. Any ideas suggestion?
Thanks in advance |

I have the same noise in my cabin. Waiting to hear back from the dealer to schedule a service.

While researching this on older threads, I came across this from another member:
"I have a 2013 328 that had this exact same issue. Took it to the dealer and did a test drive with the shop foreman in the car. Surprise surprise it didn't happen then. Fortunately the foreman knew right away once I explained the symptoms. He was able to reproduce it by turning off the A/C but leaving the fan on. He said they recently received a service bulletin about this issue caused by the heater expansion valve. I have not experience this issue again after the dealer replaced the expansion valve (Feb 2016). Whereas before I was getting this issue once every few weeks, especially on the warmer days." |

I'm also experiencing a similar issue. I can hear a high pitch and a slightly lower one. It isn't related to rpm but to wheels speed.
The car was also diagnosed with a faulty differential and it's due to service on Monday. Hopefully it will be ok. The car is 3 weeks old I've now got a new differential and the car is quiet again. Hopefully it will stay so Last edited by LaGSa; 11-28-2017 at 03:40 PM.. |

Just a few months before the warranty ran out I had this noise and once you tuned into it it was a pain - Dealer changed something on the drive train to fix it - car was in for 2 days. It has solved the problem.
