Owner's Manual X40i

The X3 M40i owner's manual is online. You need the last 7 of the vehicle VIN. https://www.bmwusa.com/owners-manuals.html It worked for me.

Can you get your VIN from BMW before the car is delivered?

Yes - we just asked the folks at Genius while we were checking on our production update. Suspect your Dealer can also provide it once it goes into production.

For whatever reason, it isn't accepting the last 7 of my VIN.

You may want to double-check the letters/numbers - I just logged in and it seemed to work fine.

I'm not sure that's available. When I first logged in last week that was what I was looking for (so it would be handy on my desktop), but I couldn't find such. I think, at least at this time (unless I'm missing something), there is this online version and the hard copy we'll get with our X3s. I could be wrong.

Meanmusic, maybe you should try to access the manual through BMW Canada. My link is BMWUSA.

Is that a production order number, or a partial VIN?

They want the last seven digits of the VIN.

Yes, I know. I was asking if he was sure he was using the seven of the VIN and not perhaps the seven digit order number. It was also a bit of an inside joke to anyone who has called to check their order status

Same issue here. Last 7 of VIN did not work on the manual site.

Still not working for me either. I'm bored at work and would love to be able to read it.

Ditto on all. Guess the load of VINs from one system takes a while into the other. Not sure why an owner's manual is deemed confidential and requires proof you are a driver. Just like why do I need to be within 1km/.6mi to use the Locate My Vehicle feature on the app.... it's my vehicle and I'm using a password controlled app to check... but I won't get on that soapbox on BMW IT.

I thought I read once that it's so that you can't track the car (and therefore the person driving it) when you may have let someone else (like your spouse) use it. Not sure if that was hogwash, though - but I can see that being used as a reason.

Would anyone with access be able to tell us the Rim specs? Bolt pattern + center bore..

Also the TPMS frequency...

Or if anyone would be so kind as to PM their last 7 digits so that I can look it up?

I reviewed the entire online manual regarding Tires, but couldn't find anything on the Rim specs, bolt pattern, center bore, or TPSM frequency. I then clicked on 'Reference' at the bottom, and then 'Technical data'. That leads to a page which reads, "Technical data can be found in the printed Owner's Manual".

I'll try to remember to look that up for you when we get our printed version.

Our M40i was completed yesterday. Now I can access the online owners manual.
