1/4 Mile Times M240I
Has anyone done any 1/4 mile racing with the 240 - Interested in times including 60ft 1/8 1/4 with both ET and Trap - I will be taking my new M240i to NE Dragway before the track closes Oct 30th - Waiting to have abt 500 miles on it. I personally think the posted specs on the car are way understated - I have a 2000 SS Camaro that puts down over 400rwhp and weighs 3400 lbs - It is a 12 sec or better 1/4 car at about 117. The butt dyno tells me that this little M is as fast and maybe faster, at least to 100 not sure after that as the Camaro with a lot more HP may drive around it - Will post numbers end of month. Then next spring will do some basic mods - tune, cai, maybe resonator delete,

I went 12.39 @ 110.7 with JB4/intake on the old map 1 (+4 psi). 1.98 60', 7.9x 1/8 @ 90. Not sure why I didn't p/u more mph on the second half. I think Sport + and the lever not being to the left in M/S may have cut some speed. No way is a stock m240i trapping anywhere close to 117. That's stock F80 M3 territory.

That was my point - I am sure the Camaro will drive around the 240 at the big end but remember drag races are won with ET not MPH and the 240 with X drive and all that low end torque will be very good to the 1000 ft mark - Guess we will not know until next spring since I took the took the R888 tires off the camaro and just running streets - Will know ET with a easy launch for the bmw next weds - My guess is about 12.5 at 108

Wait, so you have X Drive? Originally you were talking about an M240i, not M240ix. A couple guys have run 12.3-12.4 in bone stock X Drives, so it is quick down low. I believe a couple tuned X-Drives have broken into the 11's. You should break 12.50's in the cool fall air. But a car that traps 117 should still have no problem catching a stock X-Drive by the 1/8 mile marker unless traction is a MAJOR issue.

Right - if I ran the Camaro with the street tires my 60 ft would be well over two as would have to granny launch - The BMW is actually my wife's car she will be racing it - so next spring after she has it tuned - I will put my drag tires on the Camaro and race for pink slips LOL If she gets that in the high 11 with a tune I could have a problem!! Also I am 6 speed and she is auto but I have more fun banging gears win or lose
