Winter Tyres for 550 xdrive

My current summer tyres is:
245/40 R19 - Front
275/35 R19 - Rear

Can I use this winter tires
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 245/45 R19 102T - front
Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 275/40 R19 105T - rear

Looks like for rear tyres are bit higher. Is this will cause any problems with xdrive?
Nokian not making tyres 275/35 R19, but Hakka 8 is ideal for strong winters.

First of all, the new Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 will be out this winter, so I'd check that out if you want studded tires.
I don't know how the xDrive will react to the larger 245/45 and 275/40 size, so I'd go 245/40/19 all around, even if the rear wheels are wider.

M550: Existing setup for 18" for winters? I saw on some review that's it's possible? Some people have this setup?

Yes, I tested an M5550xi with 18" winter setup.
Wheels were Multi spoke 619, 8x18 ET 30.
Three other 18" designs are available from BMW: 684 (V-Spoke), 632 (W-Spoke) and 634 (Double-Spoke).

Cheers.

245/45 is standard for 18" - Style 619 wheels are non-staggered.

p.s. Keep in mind that the same wheels are offered for G11 in size 245/50.

You want a narrower snow tire than what you use for summer tires so they dig into the snow

I use the size you mention (in an A/S) on my M550 since I live in NY where the roads are bad and wanted a larger sidewall. The difference in height (from from to rear) is very small from the stock size and has not been a problem.
