Ipod Problem

I have seen posts about the ipod randomly switching to radio, but has anyone had the music from their ipod get louder/softer and have the vocals cut out or switch to an echo effect in the middle of a track? I've had the car for a month and this is the first time it has happened. I'm using a 1st generation Nano.

Does it correlate with how fast you are going? If so, you need to adjust the vehicle speed/volume setting. This makes the music louder with increased vehicle speed.

Not at all, and I have the speed volume adjustment turned all the way down. It doesn't seem to affect FM radio, it is only a problem with the ipod.

I'm using my 80gb ipod classic pretty much all the time in the car. Not had that problem.
